Maintenance Tip:
To preserve your beneficial bacteria colony, always rinse your sponge pads in a container of siphoned aquarium water during your water change. Using tap water will kill the bacteria due to the presence of chlorine. It is recommended to replace the sponge when it begins to lose its shape or becomes heavily clogged despite cleaning.
