The Reptile One Compact UVB Lamp is an essential component for maintaining the health and vitality of your captive reptiles and amphibians. By producing both UVA and UVB spectra found in natural sunlight, this lamp stimulates appetite and activity while facilitating the synthesis of Vitamin D3—the key to effective calcium metabolism and preventing Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD).
Wattage: 13W or 26W
Fitting: E27 Standard Screw Fitting
Design: Compact spiral shape (ideal for smaller terrariums or creating focused zones in larger enclosures).
Choosing the correct percentage depends on your pet’s natural habitat and basking requirements:
| Model | Intensity | Recommended Habitat |
| 2.0 | Low Output | Ideal for Amphibians (frogs, salamanders) and nocturnal reptiles that require only very low levels of UVB. |
| 5.0 | Moderate Output | Designed for Tropical/Rainforest species that live under filtered sunlight. |
| 10.0 | High Output | Perfect for Desert/Arid species that are naturally exposed to intense, direct sunlight. |
Essential Health Support: Assists in the natural production of Vitamin D3, which is critical for healthy bone growth and preventing shell deformities in turtles.
UVA Enhanced: Provides UVA radiation which improves your pet’s vision, enhances their natural colours, and stimulates healthy feeding and breeding behaviours.
Versatile Placement: Its compact size makes it suitable for use in smaller habitats or specialized reflectors where linear tubes may not fit.
Safe & Efficient: Low energy consumption with a high-quality glass construction designed to maximize UV penetration.
2.0: Frogs, Toads, and some Invertebrates.
5.0: Day Geckos, Chameleons, Blue Tongue Skinks, and Water Dragons.
10.0: Bearded Dragons, Blue Tongue Lizards (Arid varieties), Tortoises, and Monitors.
Expert Care Tips:
Replacement: UVB output fades over time even if the bulb still emits visible light. For optimal health, replace your bulb every 6 to 9 months.
Distance: The effective range for a 13W compact bulb is typically between 15 cm and 25 cm from the primary basking area.
Installation: Always handle the bulb by the base to avoid leaving skin oils on the glass, and ensure it is installed in a ceramic/porcelain socket rated for heat.
