The Reptile One Tube UVB T8 is a high-quality linear fluorescent lamp engineered to provide the essential ultraviolet radiation that reptiles need to thrive in captivity. Designed to be used with standard T8 reflectors, these tubes replicate the UVA and UVB spectra of natural sunlight, stimulating vital biological processes such as appetite, activity, and the synthesis of Vitamin D3 for calcium absorption.
These tubes are available in standard lengths to fit most terrarium setups. All tubes have a standard T8 diameter (26 mm).
| Tube Length | Wattage | Fitting Type |
| 45 cm (18") | 15W | T8 Bi-Pin |
| 60 cm (24") | 18W | T8 Bi-Pin |
| 90 cm (36") | 30W | T8 Bi-Pin |
| 120 cm (48") | 36W | T8 Bi-Pin |
To ensure your pet receives the correct amount of UV radiation, choose the percentage that best matches their natural environment:
UVB 5.0 (Tropical): Best for species from rainforests or subtropical regions where sunlight is filtered through a forest canopy.
UVB 10.0 (Desert): High-output UV for sun-loving, desert-dwelling species that are naturally exposed to intense, direct sunlight.
Vitamin D3 Synthesis: Provides the necessary UVB wavelengths required for reptiles to convert inactive Vitamin D into its active form, preventing Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD).
UVA for Well-being: Emits UVA radiation to improve color perception, boost appetite, and encourage natural mating and basking behaviors.
Wide Distribution: Linear tubes provide a much larger UV coverage area compared to compact bulbs, ensuring your pet receives beneficial rays as they move throughout the enclosure.
Reliable Performance: Formulated with high-quality phosphors to provide a stable UV output over a long period.
Flicker-Free Compatibility: Designed for use with electronic ballasts (like the Reptile One T8 Reflector) for a smooth, stable light.
UVB 5.0: Blue Tongue Skinks, Water Dragons, Chameleons, and Aquatic Turtles.
UVB 10.0: Bearded Dragons, Uromastyx, Frilled Neck Lizards, and Tortoises.
Expert Maintenance Tip: UVB output decreases over time, even though the tube may still appear bright to the human eye. To maintain your pet’s health, linear T8 tubes should be replaced every 6 to 9 months. For maximum effectiveness, position the tube between 300 mm and 350 mm from your pet’s primary basking spot.
