We currently have 6 self-employed pet groomers that work out of the Otago Petfoods building. All of the groomers have varying levels of expertise with a wide variety of dogs and breeds. They were all formally employed by Mudpuppy, but have now gone on to open their own businesses

My name is Emersyn and I’m 21. I live on Matukituki Station in Wanaka with my partner Blake. We have 12 dogs, 1 horse, 7 chickens and a cat.
I learnt to groom from my SUPER talented mum who has been grooming for 20 years. I started working for her as soon as I left school but had dreams to be a vet nurse but covid changed my plans and I found a new love for grooming. I got chucked into the deep end learning to groom at the Christmas rush and any groomer knows how busy Christmas time is 😂 I decided after a few weeks I actually enjoyed it and that I wasn’t half bad either! She and my dad own Otago Petfoods and Mudpuppy in Mosgiel who I worked for right until we left for Wanaka. I now work for myself in Mosgiel 1 week of every month at an awesome place called The Hound Hub in Wanaka. I also operate a mobile dog grooming van servicing some of the more remote areas in Central Otago. I’ve been grooming full time just under 3 years now.
I enjoy baking, hiking with my Labrador Meg, horse riding and hunting and fishing with Blake. Plenty to keep me busy on my days off!

Hi there! My name is Kim and I have been grooming for around 21 years now! Being a qualified vet nurse, raw feeding nutritionist and Dog groomer means that I am kept on my toes both with both grooming and working at Otago Petfoods. I have two terriers at home Nessie and Sylvee alongside chickens, fish and three cats Sugar, George and Wynda. I also have 3 children who keep me busy in the weekends, taking them to sports and on outdoor adventures hunting and fishing with my husband. I am currently closed for new clients as I only groom part-time now.
